A quick video of a flock Swallows (Hirundo Neoxena) feeding on small aquatic insects.
I filmed this just last week (early August) and this scene replays itself every afternoon.
I will be interested to see how long it continues, as it will possibly depend on the transformation of the insects from aquatic to airborne creatures.
Hi David
ReplyDeleteA lovely ballet scene - especially the slow-motion images. "Welcome Swallows", of course.
Your pond must be full of insects. It'll be mozzie heaven in the warmer months - so those Swallows are doing you a huge favour, eating the larvae. But you knew that.
Cheers
Denis
Great video of the birds and the colors are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh I reckon I could just sit there all day. In fact I've watched the video 3 times today.
